We've secured a small parcel on these amazing wines from the Limestone Coast Region in South Australia.  The producer has been producing wine under this label from 20+ years and they're just getting better!

The grapes for this popular Cab are sourced from the Reschke vineyards in Coonawarra, which sit on terra rossa soils, and growers in Wrattonbully, Padthaway and the Limestone Coast. The blocks undergo skin contact pre-fermentation for a period of two to six days (the period obviously varies from block to block). Fermentation then takes six to eight days, before being transferred to stainless steel to conclude, with a percentage going into French oak hogsheads and barrels to mature for some 18 months. 

Crimson red, the nose offers an array including black fruits, plums, cigar box notes and hints of mint (would not have surprised me to learn that there was some Merlot involved here, but apparently not). Hints of chocolate are also present. This has a lovely creamy texture, and is delightfully supple. There is both excellent balance and good length. A really appealing blueberry pie note comes through on the palate. This is delicious now but it certainly has a future. - 93pts Wine Pilot
